In 1118 Hugh de Payens and eight other secular Knight gave a vow of poverty, chastity and obedience, and promised to give their lives for the defense of Christian pilgrims in the Holy Land.
The king of Jerusalem, Baldwin II, gave this group a place to live.
A place where they finally got your name, they were settled in al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount.
They were then known as Pauperes commilitones Christ Templique Solomon or poor knights of Christ from the Temple of Solomon, or rather las Templars known.
This was the beginning of what should be the most powerful military order in the world until its demise in the year 1307th
Our Tabard shows what would have carried a Knight Templar. Completely in white with a distinctive red cross on the center of the chest, this combination made an on the battlefield instantly recognizable. Made of strong 100% hand-woven linen with 100% linen lining.
