Houndskull Bascinet Helmet, circa 1390 AD, 1.6 mm

Delivery weight: 2.7 kg

The pig face helmet is a variation on the late medieval bascinet helmet.
The houndskull was favored amoung knights and warriors until about 1420.
The characteristic design of the visor gives the helmet its's name and to it's prevalence throughout central Europe.
Our version is based on a milanese helmet from circa 1390 AD.

It is made from riveted armour steel with brass ornamentation.
There is a moveable visor as well as comfortable leather inlay with chin strap.
The brass rivets at the sides are meant for attaching an aventail for chest and shoulders.
You will find various types of aventails in our chain maille section.
