Roman women's shoes, so-called calcei.

Reconstruction of Roman shoes, so-called calcei as they were probably carried by more noble, Roman women.

The original was found along with other shoes in a well near Welzheim (Germany).

The shoes are in duration to the middle of the second to the beginning of the third century AD classified.

Towards the end of the second century it was in the French Martres-de-Veyre a young woman with a tunic and buried together with very similar shoes long knee socks.

Reconstructed from soft, vegetable-tanned leather.

The shoes are not colored.
